Ramadan

Our Club considers itself privileged to have members drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures and faiths.

For our Muslim members this is a hugely significant time of the year, as the Holy Month of Ramadan commenced on June 18th. This falls in the ninth month of the Islamic calender and lasts for a full cycle of the moon. It is a time for reflection, devotion, abstinence and charitable good works during which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. This of course means that in those fixtures played during the next four weeks or so our Muslim members will not be able to eat with us. As a club we respect and support this absolutely and unconditionally.

On behalf of everyone associated with The Ramblers we extend to our Muslim members, friends and opponents the most sincere and heartfelt good wishes for Ramadan. You will be very much in our thoughts. Inshallah.

GC Jenkins, Club Secretary.
