Save Aigburth Cricket Club
Aigburth Cricket Club is currently under threat of being forced from its ground because their landlord is refusing to extend its lease.
The club was founded in 1888,has over 400 members and plays an integral role in the local St.Michael’s community.
In addition to its two cricket elevens the club fields numerous bowls teams and hosts darts, chess and quiz teams along with art classes and a brass band. It is also a hub for a range of community groups and organisations.
We unequivocally support the members of Aigburth CC in their fight to prevent the tragic loss of this oasis of urban green space and important community resource. We therefore urge everyone associated with our club to sign the petition which calls on the Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council to secure the future of this historic club which has been part of the sporting landscape of our City for in excess of 130 years.
