Mark and Sally Fearnall

Mark and Sally Fearnall became Honoury Members of our Club shortly before Mark passed away, aged 56, on 20th February 2020.

Mark was a talented multi-sportsman having played golf, hockey and football. He was a member of several cricket clubs, including Free Foresters and Cholmondeley, where he was Sunday XI Captain for ten years. Latterly he was a member at Chester Boughton Hall and represented their ‘Blazers’ Over 40s XI. He was also Chair of Chester Lord’s Taverners and a Freeman of The City of Chester. Above all he was an eminently decent human being, who worked tirelessly as a charity fundraiser.

Later today ‘The Blazers’ will be playing Cheshire Gentlemen at Chester Boughton Hall CC [12 noon] in a fixture to both celebrate Mark’s life and to raise funds for Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham. We unequivocally support the aims of this event and will be making an appropriate donation in due course.

We consider it a huge honour that Mark was a member of our Club, albeit for such a tragically short time. We are also honoured that following Mark’s passing Sally remains part of our interconnected community. Like Mark, she will always be a much valued and highly respected Wyncote Rambler. During the course of today our collective thoughts will not only be with Sally, but also with her and Mark’s families.

We feel certain that today’s game will be a huge success and that everyone present will have an enjoyable and uplifting afternoon.
