Match day protocol
1. Pre-Match
Team members are expected to meet punctually and to arrive at any given venue at the stated time, viz 20 minutes (minimum) before the start time for evening T20 fixtures and 40 minutes (minimum) before the start time for all other fixtures. All players should be fully changed 10 minutes before the start of T20 fixtures and 15 minutes before the start of all other fixtures.
2. Batting
2.1 Opening batsmen should be fully prepared a minimum of 5 minutes prior to the commencement of the innings.
2.2 A minimum of three waiting batsmen should be padded up at all times, viz at the start of the innings, batsmen 3, 4 and 5 should be prepared then at the fall of the 1st wicket number 6 should pad up and so on.
2.3 At the fall of each wicket, the ingoing and outgoing batsmen will cross.
2.4 Batsmen will ALWAYS "walk".
2.5 At the commencement of the final over of the innings, all members of the team will assemble in the area of the pavilion.
2.6 At the cessation of the innings, ALL members of the team will applaud the fielding side as they leave the field.
3. Fielding
3.1 All members of the team will assemble at a designated location five minutes prior to the due start time of the opposition innings. The team will then take to the field collectively and led by the captain.
3.2 During the course of the innings, fielders should move quickly to their position at the end of each over.
3.3 On the dismissal of a batsman who has performed well, ALL members of the team will gather around the captain and applaud said opponent as he/she leaves the field.
3.4 Bowlers and fielders are expected to appeal ONLY when there is actually a chance of a dismissal.
3.6 At the cessation of the innings, the team and captain will assemble in order to applaud the opposition batsmen as they leave the field. Only after the departure of the batsmen will the team leave the field, led by either the captain or by a player, or players, directed by the captain.
4. Refreshment Intervals
4.1 During "home" fixtures, no member of the team will sit down to eat until after all members of the visitors have done so.
4.2 ALL members of the team will ALWAYS eat together. Guests, partners, supporters and parents are welcome to join the team at lunch/tea.
4.3 Team members are expected, AS A MATTER OF COURSE, to return their crockery to the kitchen area and to offer the caterer their individual/personal thanks for the refreshments provided.
5. Post-Match
Following both "home" and away fixtures, all team members are expected to socialise, for at least a short period of time, with our opponents.
